It Snowed in the Desert Today!

Ellie couldn't wait to go play in it, even if it is very wet snow, and only about 1/4 inch is sticking to the ground.
Here she is, attempting to make a snow angel:

She is in such awe, she can't believe it. The last time it snowed here where it stuck was seven years ago.

As soon as she got back inside she rushed in to tell Emma all about it.

Emma listened intently, but she didn't actually want to go play in it herself.

  1. Little Ellie is the perfect snow angel. I'm only surprised Emma didn't want to go out and play in it too. It's not like she's going to get another chance anytime soon. In another 7 years maybe...

Oh my goodness, this reminds me of a short story by Ray Bradbury titled "All Summer in a Day," about a world where the sun shines only one day every seven years. I won't spoil it for you by telling you any more. Just go read it!

    1. Actually, I read that story, I felt terribly sorry for the little girl from Earth. Isn't it amazing how some stories just stay with you.
Actually, I'm sure Emma would have loved to go play too, but I was out of energy by the time I got Ellie ready. I've been running errands, but it totally wipes me out. I'm so glad I'm staying home from work!!

  2. How wonderful to have snow! I hope we get a little before winter is over. we have only had a few cold days this season, much like last year. I enjoy the cool months so much!

Ellie looks adorable playing in the snow. :o)

Sounds like you may be doing too much too son. Please take care of yourself and follow doctors orders, young lady! :o)

  3. She must be the sweetest snow angel I have seen! I just love her little outfit as well.

Yes do as Bama says, take it easy young lady! ;-) I'm guessing you had a different type of op to me, as I had an abdominal hysterectomy when I was 36 and it wiped me out for a long time...and yes I did do things too soon and really regretted it!
