His Own Photoshoot

{I don't think Crow has ever had his own photoshoot. I usually use him as an accessory to Harley. But since he's staying, he really should get some of his own camera time, and personal story time. }

I've been a shapeshifter since I was 18, and I'm 24 now, so that's 6 years. You have the gene for shifting when you are born, but you don't actually shift until you're an adult. That's probably good because otherwise the teen years could be a real disaster.

I figured I would get it, since my grandfather and uncle were shifters, but I'm only part native, so I wasn't really sure if I would get it or not. It comes down through my mother's side.

I was afraid to tell Harley, I didn't know how she would take it, since she hadn't grown up on any of the old legends of shapeshifters and the brotherhood of wolf and man like I had. I mean, I knew she loved wolves, but there's a difference between loving a wolf and being involved with one romantically.

Well, I'm not really a wolf, I just assume the shape of one, but I still have my human brain. It's just that I perceive things differently, and am stronger, and can smell and hear so much better in wolf form.

Anyway, that's enough about that. I feel weird talking to you about it, because it's a secret between the shapeshifting families.

  1. Love the photos. He's very handsome -- we don't really "see" him when he's with Harley becaues all eyes focus on her.

    I'm enjoying his backstory, too. He's not a shapeshifter in the Native American sense, is he? From what I've read (mysteries set in the Southwest) it seems shapeshifters are regarded as witches. They're made out to be bad medicine.

    1. You're right, they are considered relatively evil in Southwestern Indian lore. While he is part Native American, I don't have a particular tribe that he belongs to, since I wouldn't want to offend someone's culture. I have a few ideas as to the origins of Crow's particular brand of shapeshifting, but I'm not sure which one will work itself in the blog. I wrote a horrible (as in completely ridiculous) novel about them, but it's too immature to share, so I'm sharing the concept, and recreating some dialogue instead.

    1. Thanks! Yeah, it's too expensive to just be an accessory to Harley now, lol. ;)

  3. I enjoyed seeing Crow on his own too. I like how his wig is lighter in the sunlight. I guess most dolls look better in natural lighting, but the differences in Crow are very noticeable. He is very photogenic. :o)

    1. Thanks Bama. I've been taking a lot of photos of both Harley and Crow after dark with my phone, with no flash. It seemed to help me capture their intimacy. Today I took Crow outside while it was still light out and used the good camera. He is a pretty looking boy, lol, shh, don't tell him I said that. ;)
